São Paulo Governor Tarcísio de Freitas holds a solid lead in his re-election bid with 40% of first-round voting intentions, according to a Quaest poll released on Tuesday (25). Finance Minister Fernando Haddad stands in second place with 27% in Brazil's largest voting state.

The survey, commissioned by TV Globo, places the incumbent governor ahead beyond the poll's two percentage point margin of error. The figures highlight Freitas's standing in conservative politics within São Paulo state ahead of the upcoming electoral race.

The Quaest poll also evaluated public sentiment regarding the regional government. Results show that 56% of voters approve of Freitas's governorship, while 31% register disapproval. The approval numbers reflect steady voter backing across both the metropolitan area and the state's interior.

The survey was released alongside national figures for Brazil's wealthiest state. In the presidential scenario measured within São Paulo, federal lawmaker Flávio Bolsonaro reached 30% of voter preference, while President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva recorded 29%, showing a tight race in the key electoral battlefield.
