Brazilian pollster Quaest will release a new presidential voting intention survey next Wednesday (September 2). The poll was commissioned by Globo and the newspaper O Globo, according to G1. The questionnaire, registered with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), includes two first-round scenarios: one with 12 candidates and another with 13.

The difference between the two scenarios is Pablo Marçal (PRTB). The influencer is currently ineligible but registered his candidacy anyway, and the Electoral Court has yet to decide whether he can run. In Quaest's previous poll, released on August 14, the PRTB name tested was Leonardo Avalanche, who did not score. Avalanche is now Marçal's running mate. Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL), son of former president Jair Bolsonaro, also appears in the questionnaire, alongside President Lula (PT) and ten other names.

According to data Quaest filed with the TSE, 2,004 people aged 16 or older will be interviewed between August 30 and September 1. The margin of error is two percentage points, plus or minus, with a 95% confidence level. The poll was registered with the electoral court under number BR-07065/2026.

Runoff scenarios and other topics

Quaest will also simulate five possible runoff scenarios, all against Lula: Flávio Bolsonaro, Renan Santos, Romeu Zema, Ronaldo Caiado and Augusto Cury. The questionnaire also measures voter interest in the election and perceptions of the candidates' personal traits.

The survey also covers approval and disapproval of the Lula government, how voters rate the economy, and questions about the "Dark Horse" and Lulinha investigations, involving respectively the film about Jair Bolsonaro financed by banker Daniel Vorcaro and the president's eldest son, Fábio Luís Lula da Silva.

Results will be released on Wednesday (September 2). Until then, the Electoral Court's decision on Marçal's candidacy registration remains pending, a ruling that will determine whether the PRTB name stays in future poll questionnaires.
