Senator Professora Dorinha (União Brasil) leads the race for governor of Tocantins, a state in Brazil's North region, with 37% of voting intentions, according to a Quaest poll released on Tuesday (25). Federal deputy Vicentinho Júnior (PSDB) comes in second, with 28%. It is the institute's first survey in the state for the 2026 elections.

Laurez Moreira (PSD) is third, with 7%. Ataídes de Oliveira (Novo) registered 3%, and Subtenente Luiz Carlos (Democrata), 2%. Witer Naves (PSOL) and Du Pereira (DC) did not score. Undecided voters add up to 16%, while blank and null ballots plus voters who say they do not intend to vote reach 7%.

Quaest interviewed 804 people between Friday (21) and Monday (24). The maximum margin of error is three percentage points, with a 95% confidence level. The survey was registered with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Brazil's top electoral authority, under the code TO-02161/2026 and, according to G1, was commissioned by TV Anhanguera, the Globo affiliate in Tocantins.

In a potential runoff, Dorinha would have 46% of voting intentions against 38% for Vicentinho Júnior, the same survey indicates.

Dorinha is a senator for Tocantins, and Vicentinho Júnior is a federal deputy. Days before the poll's fieldwork, the candidates for governor took part in the first debate of the state's 2026 campaign, marked by clashes over public management, health and job creation, according to G1.
