Former Minas Gerais governor Romeu Zema, of the Novo party, is the guest this Monday (Aug. 24) on the interview series that TV Globo, Brazil's largest network, is holding with the 2026 presidential candidates. The conversation airs live from 9:05 p.m. local time at Estúdios Globo in Rio de Janeiro, right after Jornal Nacional, the network's flagship evening newscast, according to g1.

The series runs from August 24 to 29 and features the six candidates best placed in the Quaest voting-intention poll published on August 14. The order was set by a draw attended by party representatives. After Zema, the studio receives Ronaldo Caiado (PSD) on Tuesday (25), Renan Santos (Missão) on Wednesday (26), President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) on Thursday (27), Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) on Friday (28) and Augusto Cury (Avante) on Saturday (29).

The interviews are conducted by journalists Renata Vasconcellos and César Tralli. It is the first time Globo airs its presidential interviews after Jornal Nacional instead of inside the newscast. Besides free-to-air TV, viewers can watch on the GloboNews cable channel and on g1, with the full interviews later available on the Globoplay streaming service. After each conversation, GloboNews airs Central das Eleições, with analysis of the candidates' statements and proposals. During the series, Jornal Nacional is anchored by Ana Paula Araújo and Márcio Bomfim from the network's studios in Rio's Jardim Botânico neighborhood.

A businessman, Zema governed the southeastern state of Minas Gerais from 2019 until March this year, when he left office. On Saturday (23) he skipped the campaign's first televised debate, broadcast by Band, which gathered only three candidates: Caiado, Renan Santos and Cury, according to Poder360. Lula and Flávio Bolsonaro also did not attend.
