In early February 2025, Neymar's days ran on the clock of the Santos training ground, at the club that made him. Far from the pitch, on the WhatsApp of banker Daniel Vorcaro, the owner of Banco Master, another kind of movement was underway: lobbyist and advertising executive Thiago Miranda was arranging a meeting at the banker's home with Neymar da Silva Santos, the player's father and agent, and that same week was handling outstanding business with Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL).
Brazil's Federal Police seized those exchanges as part of the Caso Master investigation into Banco Master, and on Sunday (21) the news magazine CartaCapital published them. According to the magazine, they indicate that Flávio Bolsonaro, now a presidential candidate in the October 2026 election, and Neymar's father were pressing for the release of funds negotiated with Vorcaro. The decisive message is dated February 11, 2025: Miranda writes that he needs the banker's help to settle "the film and Santos matters," says nothing has moved, and then gives the reason for the pressure.
"Flavio B e Neypai estão me cobrando" ("Flávio B and Neymar's dad are pressuring me"), Miranda wrote. Vorcaro replied "Fala irmão" ("Talk to me, brother") and minutes later sent Miranda a birthday greeting, ending the excerpt reproduced in the report.
The Santos deal
The conversation links two separate negotiations involving the banker that month. On February 1, Miranda approached Vorcaro about a "Neymar demand" and said he had met Flávio Bolsonaro the day before. On the 3rd, he was arranging a meeting at the banker's home with Neymar's father and people close to the player, who might show up depending on when he left training. On February 5, letters of intent reached Vorcaro; one proposed R$15 million for the bank's brand on three spaces of the club's shirt. The next day, Miranda reported that Neymar's father wanted to bring his son to speak with the banker in person, and left the numbers for that face-to-face conversation.
The 61-million-real film
In parallel, talks advanced on Dark Horse, a feature produced to tell the political story of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), which had already received money from Vorcaro. In May 2026, The Intercept Brasil revealed messages in which Flávio Bolsonaro pressed the banker for payments for the production. According to CartaCapital, transfers tied to the film reached R$61 million. The content of the sponsorship messages was first reported by the website Fatos Online and confirmed by the magazine against the Federal Police report that is part of the Caso Master files.
CartaCapital itself flags the limits of the material. The messages do not show that Neymar or his father ever met Vorcaro, nor that the negotiations were concluded, and they do not say how much each side was demanding. The magazine said it sought comment from NR Sports, the company of Neymar's family, and had received no reply by publication. Miranda, for his part, became a target of Operation Compliance Zero, launched in May this year: according to the magazine, he is suspected of orchestrating "Projeto DV," a scheme to hire influencers to question the Central Bank's handling of Banco Master's liquidation.
The report lands in the middle of the presidential race between Flávio Bolsonaro and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), and on the same day CartaCapital released another excerpt from the same trove: in December 2024, Vorcaro allegedly asked businessman Flávio Carneiro not to tell anyone about a dinner with Jair and Flávio Bolsonaro. "Esse negócio acaba comigo" ("This business will destroy me"), the banker wrote, fearing, according to investigators, that the meeting would leak. At the time, the former president was under precautionary measures in the case over the attempt to overturn the 2022 election result.
Back in February 2025, what the files record is a club training its most famous player, a meeting at a banker's house that may or may not have taken place, and a R$15 million sponsorship that, as far as the record goes, never made it onto the Santos shirt. What stayed on the phone was the middleman's urgency and the banker's calm: one demand, one "talk to me, brother," and a happy birthday.
